Why a sensory profile helps
Behaviour that looks like "won't" is very often "can't", and sensory needs are one of the most common reasons why. A child who seems distracted, avoidant or overwhelmed may simply be responding to sound, texture, movement or other sensory input in a way that isn't obvious from the outside.
A sensory profile puts a name to what's happening across each sense, so the adults around a child, whether that's parents, carers, or school staff, can respond with understanding and the right strategies, rather than guesswork.
